Magpie Momma a lifestyle blog that focuses on encouraging women in their roles as mothers, wives, leaders, and citizens of the world. I believe that all women are called to mother, whether or not they are called to motherhood. As women, we have a unique ability to guide, nurture, and uplift those around us for the betterment of all, but we cannot do so in isolation. Magpie is a place for women to gather in fellowship to share their experiences and empower one another.

I live in Phoenix, Arizona with my husband Brad, our son James, and cat JoJo. I started my career as a high school English teacher but decided to leave the classroom to be a stay-at-home mom when our son was born. I’ve always had a passion for writing, but never an outlet. The last few months of my teaching career coincided with the last few months of my pregnancy and the first few months of the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic. It was the perfect opportunity to finally explore some of my more creative passions, including my interests in writing, photography, and cooking and baking. That was when I came up with the idea for Magpie Momma.

In this blog, I cover topics that are close to my heart and that I think other women can relate to. I also share stories and devotions for spiritual encouragement. The motto of the church my husband and I attend is “All of Life is All For Jesus” and this concept is central to who I am and how I view the world. I believe that I am a sinner saved by grace and that I am called to live my life in service to Him who saved me by loving Him and loving others. If you don’t believe this, that’s totally okay; though I do write from a worldview inextricably linked to my faith, this is meant to be a place of encouragement for all women.
